    Why?

    1. Your friends and neighbors are filled with useful interesting knowledge that they’ve been keeping secret from you for far too long.

    2. Learn whatever you want…for FREE.

    3. It's the perfect excuse to bridge the cubicle wall between you and your intriguing co-worker.

    4. You have nothing better to do on a Sunday- why not learn something new?

    5. It’s the only failsafe way to know what your friends want to teach. Otherwise, you might demand that your friend teaches you the tin flute after hearing she was a tin flute master, only to learn that in fact she quit the tin flute years ago after becoming increasing jaded with how commercial the scene had become. Awkward!

I’m an amazing teacher. Is it ok if I ask people for money in exchange for teaching them really super well?

No. Our site is 100% free. Anyone who tries to do otherwise will be executed. Just kidding… But seriously, don’t do that.

I want to learn, but I can’t teach anything useful. What do I do?

Yes you can. You’d be surprised how many things people need to know but don’t. Take one of our founders. She’s pretty cool, reasonably attractive, does well on standardized tests, started the greatest website of our time. But she can’t hook up a wireless router. She does not know how to change a tire. And she once screwed up the preparation of Kraft Easy Mac. I’m sure you could teach her alone approximately 304 things. Just take a minute, think about every single thing in your life that you are capable of doing and add them to your profile. Scroll through other people’s profiles, see what they want to learn, and add it.

Ok yeah she sucks. But I still can’t think of anything. Help me!

No problem. Take our quiz to find out what you can teach. It’s specially designed for people like you. Attractive, charming people like you.

Is this website…safe? What about, you know, like stalkers and stuff?

We want to make your CommuniTeach experience as safe as possible, and to that end recommend a variety of features and safety precautions. Always go to a public place for your meetings: a library, a coffeeshop, a community center, etc. We have a few recommended spots if you need 'em. Before you even get to that stage, make sure to read the reviews of the people you are going to meet with and message back and forth with them. If you don’t feel totally comfortable with the idea of meeting with someone, don’t do it. If you want to be extra cautious, at least in the beginning, feel free to start out by meeting with your friends and acquaintances in your networks. Last, be sure to always use the official LearnIt request so we know who are are meeting with and where you’ll be.

    What’s a LearnIt?

A LearnIt is the official meeting where the communiteacher and communiteachee get together in a coffeeshop, library room, or other public space to meet in order to teach and learn. It’s really super crazy important that you submit a LearnIt form each time you meet with someone so we know what’s going on with the site and continue updating it so it’s most useful for you. Post-LearnIt, you write a review of the person you learned from. And then you LearnIt some more. And all is well.

    What are networks?

Networks are groups of people. The company you work for can be a network. Your apartment building can be a network. You can even have a “Sarah and her posse” style network composed solely of you and your closest friends. Basically, you can have a network on anything, as it’s based on a group of people that knows each other in real life.

How do I start a network?

Go to our network page and create one. Then recruit your friends who belong to that network and get them to sign up. If you create the network, you’re the master of it and in charge of inviting everyone who belongs in it. Larger networks have more skills, meaning more opportunities to learn and overall more awesomeness. So invite everyone you know. Do it now.

Umm, why would I go through this site when I could just ask my friends to teach me stuff directly?

Our way is a bit simpler – thanks to our lovely, informational, and aesthetically pleasing profiles you know exactly what the people you know would be happy to teach you. Just randomly approaching your friends neighbors and demanding that they teach you things, by contrast, could be awkward. At the way we envision it in our heads, when you’re waving your hands menacingly and screaming while doing it.

Additionally, we go beyond your friends. With communiteach, you have an excuse to know your co-workers better. Or your neighbors. Instead of asking for a cup of sugar, you ask them for a cup of knowledge. mMm, knowledge.

And also, ARE you actually learning from your friends? …yeah, that’s right. Neither were we. That’s why we created the website.

Umm, why would I go through this site when I could just go online and find out how to do it?

A lot of things are much easier to learn if taught in person. And even when they aren’t, meeting in person is more fun – you get to learn something new, connect with a person in your community, and get away from your computer for a change. You should get out more anyway. Share that beautiful face with the world.

Umm, why would I go through this site when I could just pay to go to a class to teach me stuff?

You clearly have a lot more money than those other people asking questions. We here at Communiteach firmly believe that you don’t have to be a paid expert to teach people useful things. A LearnIt is one-on-one. It lets you learn exactly what you want to know, and it works around your schedule. And enables you to learn a bunch of random bits o knowledge – like how to stay in pitch for Rock Band vocals – that you probably can’t find a class for. It brings you closer to the other saweet individuals in your community.

And, again, it’s FREE. That leaves you with more money to buy presents for your family and friends, Or, alternatively the communiteach founders. We like presents, too.

You didn’t answer my question! Was it not frequently asked enough? This is garbage.

No worries. Email us directly at ct@communiteach.com and we are happy to read through and answer (almost) any question your heart desires.
